Project Description

The expansion and addition to West Salem High School is designed to increase educational opportunities, safety and security and provide more space.

Among the highlights are a new three-story classroom wing with 20 general classrooms, expanded Career and Technical Education and a new Black Box Theater. The Developmental Learning Center will move into the new classroom wing, and the Commons will be expanded along with the girls and boys lockers rooms.

Some existing first floor classrooms will be converted into two modern science labs and the music programs will get additional storage and classroom space. In addition, a 100-space parking lot will be built near Doaks Ferry Road.

Ground broke on the project in May 2021. The new athletic wing with a training room, athletic director’s office, conference room, new lockers and storage was attached to the existing building. It opened in September 2022.

Completion of the addition is expected in spring 2023 with all remaining work concluding by that summer.

This is one of four recent projects Todd has built for the Salem-Keizer School District. The company also built the Gaffin Transportation Center and renovated Judson Middle School and South Salem High School.
