Project Description
George Fox University chose Todd Construction to remodel some of the space inside the Roberts Center into a Nursing Simulation Lab, so it could offer expanded educational opportunities to its nursing students on the Newberg campus.
The area previously occupied by a physical education program now features:
- Educational facility that simulates a Medical Office Building with six rooms, including individual intensive care unit rooms, patient rooms and home health care rooms
- Skilled nursing classroom that simulates a day-surgery center with all necessary equipment for treating patients in hospital beds separated by curtains.
- Large nursing classroom with projectors, screens and lockers
- Two anatomy labs
- Two breakout rooms
- Mailroom
- Mechanical penthouse
The remodel was completed on a tight time frame during the summer before students returned to classes.
Dan Schutter, Associate Director of Plant Services for George Fox, said, “Todd Construction was more than gracious to work with us on extra scope added to a summer remodel at the Roberts Center. No matter what we tacked on, they were able to get it completed and do a great job.”
