Project Description

The latest improvements on the campus of La Salle focus on the prep school’s athletics program.

The beloved gym — known as the brick oven — has been transformed so it’s more functional and accessible for students and staff and hospitable to guests. An additional 3,200 square feet was added to the school to accommodate a new fitness center and training room; locker rooms and team rooms; concessions, merchandise and ticketing space; athletic department offices and public restrooms.

Renovation to the gym entrance  provides a clear pathway to athletic events. A virtual tour of the new facility is available.

Executive Director Matt Winningham says: “The transformed facility expands the opportunities our students have to use physical fitness, health education, and athletics to develop healthy habits, reduce stress, and manage anxiety.”

Groundbreaking took place March 3, 2020 and the project was completed on schedule in December 2020, despite challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Todd Construction previously renovated the school’s main entrance, theater lobby, maker space and science and library wing.
