Project Description
Teamwork and pre-planning were of utmost importance on this project. The new 140,000-square-foot replacement middle school was built on the same 16-acre site as the occupied and fully operational existing school.
The project achieved LEED Gold certification. Construction waste diversion was a challenge due to several factors, but the primary challenge was the inclusion of the demolition material of the existing building. Special care was taken to separate materials and where allowed, recycled concrete was used as structural fill to build up the site. Todd’s efforts resulted in over 95% of the waste being diverted from the landfill.
