Project Description

A new environment conducive to artistic exploration and expression has arrived on the George Fox University campus.

Todd Construction built the Art and Cinematic Arts Building for the university in time for the start of the 2025-26 school year. The 12,800-square-foot building includes a state-of-the-art ceramics, glass and 3-D sculpture lab; an outdoor courtyard that doubles as an expanded production space; sound stage; lobby with gallery space; green room; office; storage area for art collections; and a 72-seat theater.

The building is particularly suited to students majoring in studio arts, interior design, graphic design, illustration and cinematic arts.

Marvin Eans, chair of the Department of Art and Design at the college, told the George Fox Journal the building will foster a sense of community and collaboration among students. He said it will enhance the university’s reputation and attract talented individuals seeking a holistic educational experience rooted in faith and creativity.

Todd self-performed the wood framing of the single-story building. This is the 15th building Todd constructed or renovated for George Fox University. Other campus buildings include the Hadlock Student CenterBrandt Hall, the university’s Chapel, and the Roberts Center for Nursing. We’ve also performed renovations at the university’s Portland Center, including the Advanced Practice Nursing Simulation Center.
