Project Description

A new affordable housing complex and health care clinic for those 55 and older is coming to the Felida neighborhood of Vancouver, Washington.

The Oregon-based nonprofit, Specialized Housing Inc., worked for four years to obtain funding and support for the project.

The project will include 65 units in the three-story structure. The 9,000-square-foot clinic for low-income seniors will be operated by Providence and funded by Medicare. It’s a Program for All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly or PACE clinic.

The wood-framed complex covers 72,000 square feet and will have one- and two-bedroom apartments, community space, a multipurpose room with a kitchen, a garden, and a 100-kw solar array. Architect Bill Wilson designed seating areas and activity spaces between rooms to break up the long hallways.

A large porte cochere will frame the main entrance with another entrance at the clinic, which will serve not only the residents living there but also others from Clark County.

The complex sits next to the 15-acre Felida Community Park. Groundbreaking for the project occurred in late 2024, and expected completion is in early 2026.
