Project Description
An environment conducive to artistic exploration and expression is coming to the George Fox University campus.
Todd Construction is building the Art and Cinematic Arts Building for the university. The 12,800-square-foot building will include a state-of-the-art ceramics, glass and 3-D sculpture lab; an outdoor courtyard that doubles as an expanded production space; gallery; storage area for art collections; and an 80-seat theater.
The building is particularly suited to students majoring in studio arts, interior design, graphic design, illustration and cinematic arts.
Marvin Eans, chair of the Department of Art and Design at the college, told the George Fox Journal, the building will also foster a sense of community and collaboration among students. He said it will enhance the university’s reputation and attract talented individuals seeking a holistic educational experience rooted in faith and creativity.
Todd is self-performing the wood framing of the single-story building. This is the 15th building Todd has constructed or renovated for George Fox University. Other campus buildings include the Hadlock Student Center, Brandt Hall and remodeled the Roberts Center for Nursing. We’ve also performed renovations at the university’s Portland Center.
