Project Description
Located on a 25-acre wooded site, the Oregon Coast Community College central campus includes an administration building with a book-store and offices and an academic building with classrooms and science labs.
It’s a two-story, wood-framed building with a concrete slab on metal deck totaling 77,000 square feet.
The project achieved LEED Silver certification. Daylighting through tall windows limits the need for electric lights. Rainwater runoff is cap-tured and stored during heavy rain events and released slowly to prevent erosion.
Natural ventilation systems provide cooling with minimal reliance on mechanical air conditioning.
