Project Description
A new two-story wing of technology-enhanced classrooms, a grand new main entrance with administrative offices and an upgraded Career and Technical Education building are part of the additions and renovations at North Marion High School.
Overall, the school is brighter with more open spaces, from the roll-up garage doors that extend the Commons into the interior courtyard to the second-floor library and stairwells with their large windows.
Ground broke in May 2019, for the three-phase project on the occupied campus. It was a much-anticipated event for the architects, administrative staff and students who had been dreaming and planning the new buildings and upgrades for several years.
The renovation began in summer 2019 in the CTE Building and Music Wing. Construction continued through 2020 on the new classroom wing, and then work began on the new administration wing. The school now has air conditioning and all new MEP and fire protection systems. It also has a 125kw solar array with southern exposure.
The project, shown in this video, was made possible by a $42.2 million bond levy approved by district taxpayers in 2017.
