Project Description
A new fitness room, four new science labs, three new classrooms and an expanded commons area are among the improvements made at Judson Middle School in 2020.
Students and staff saw a new, more secure and visible main entrance when they returned for classes in the fall of 2019, after the first phase of construction. Classroom walls received seismic bracing, the gym ceiling got revamped to produce a new industrial look and classrooms were freshly painted over the summer.
Less visible but equally important are the heating/ventilation upgrades, new roof, seismic improvements, expanded wireless capacity and plumbing improvements.
All the upgrades were made possible by Salem-Keizer School District voters who approved a $619.7 million bond levy in 2018 to make improvements at more than half of the district’s facilities. Groundbreaking at Judson took place June 14, 2019.
